Well there is hardly anything to say about this except: PERFECTION! OH, hang on --"I had a little nut tree/Nothing would it bear/But a silver nutmeg/And a golden pear. The King of Spain's daughter/Came to visit it/And all for the sake/Of my little nut tree."
I agree with Barbara. This is exquisite -- the simplicity of it, the lighting, the warm golden glow, the reflection. The background is perfect too. Anything other than that would detract from the beauty of the shimmering pear. I have to urge to pick it up to see what it's made of! Do tell.
What a lovely poem Barbara! I believe it's made of some kind of papier mache Allyson. It just sits on a little shelf by the door and one day the sun was streaming in on it and I was lucky to catch it.
Exquisite in form and shape and composition ... as well as being dazzingly indicative of the season!
