Wordless Wednesday ~ April 5, 2017

It's a series of 4 this week that came out of a discussion about aprons and hand embroidery. I was lucky enough to inherit these beautiful pieces.

  3. These are lovely, Allison, and effective together as a series. Imagine the painstaking work that must have gone into creating them. How wonderful that you keep and cherish them. I used to have an embroidered tablecloth and napkins from my paternal grandmother, but I fear they were lost somewhere in all my moves before I finally settled down.

  4. The art of women, so casually treated and tucked into drawers. It always makes me weirdly emotional to see this stuff. My mother used to do lovely work. As did P's mum. Such talent. It's like they didn't have another outlet, so they decorated things. Gorgeous. I love the 'series'. And it makes me want more...
