  1. Oh, this is extraordinary: the light, the composition, the character of that bird (heron?). It's like a dreamworld with a magic bird. Can it grant wishes?

  2. Dreamworld is right on the money. Exactly how I saw it. Goes very well with Elizabeth's the other week, the water shot in the cave. Shots of some alternate universe. But, yes, it's the light in this one. Looks like that magical moment that happens sometimes, early evening, just as the sun begins to get lazy. It lasts for a second. Someone recently reminded me of a Carlos Castaneda quote, which seems appropriate here:

"All of us, whether or not we are warriors, have a cubic centimeter of chance that pops out in front of our eyes from time to time. The difference between an average man and a warrior is that the warrior is aware of this, and one of his tasks is to be alert, deliberately waiting, so that when his cubic centimeter pops out he has the necessary speed, the prowess, to pick it up."

Why not apply it to photos? (: (would amend the 'man' of course...)

  3. Lovely comments, thank you. It was indeed a magical moment - caught in the middle of bustling city (Vancouver) at that moment when the sun gets lazy as Carin says.
