This week I decided to shine a harsh light on social inequity in Mexico - fully aware that I was privileged enough to stay in a house similar to the one on the left.
See my friends at:
Barbara Lambert
Cheryl Andrews
Carin Makuz
Elizabeth Yeoman
Allyson Latta
But there is something so relaxed and charming about the one on the right, also, that makes me wonder which set of inhabitants has more fun -- the tidy upkeep gang, or those unafraid to hang their washing on the line.
ReplyDeleteA simplistic comment I know, for such an evocative shot.
It's a good comment Barbara - happiness factor? It's hard to know?
ReplyDeleteI found the underlying tension of the have's and have not's disturbing too, Allison. Class distinctions within the community (not tourists) was most upsetting.
