  1. Goodness me. This says so much; and yet remains a mystery. That brilliant slick gleaming icy shape truly makes the composition sing, though I am not sure exactly what has caused this gleam. An icy over-flow from the stream? And how did you manage to get such a black sky? This certainly speaks of winter in all its stark beauty and mystery. I love it.

  2. Barbara, I think the blackness comes from the fact that the sun was so bright that it caused an effect of blackening out the background. I think changing it to black and white helped too. This was taken along a stretch of the 'Hope-Princeton'. "Stop the car!", I yelled:)

  3. Something almost magical about the shape... I see a bird, its head and torso seen in profile, facing the water. Beautiful, beautiful pic, Allison. What an eye. And, yes, hats off to cooperative chauffeurs! Imagine letting this go!
(I wonder how long it was there and what it shape-shifted to next...)

  4. As if this scene wasn't already beatifully captured, Allison, that dazzling splash of reflected light across snow and stream takes it to a whole 'nother level. Beautiful!
